Our story
From buying in fur, to picking every pelt ourselves.
Marie Minks is a family business. We started out importing fur like everybody else. Now we own the factory our coats are made in, and we buy the skins ourselves at auction.

Every coat is cut and sewn in our own factory.
I was already designing the styles. I wanted to be in control of how they were made.
The company started in Ireland in 2022. In those first years we imported our fur from other suppliers — which meant we sold what we were sent, and had to trust somebody else's judgement on the skins.
In August 2024 we opened our own factory in Greece. Since then every garment we sell has been made by us, start to finish, and we choose the pelts ourselves. We have a team we are proud of, and the business has grown enormously since the doors opened.
That matters more than it might sound. Fur is not a fabric you cut to a pattern and forget. Skins vary in density, in colour, in the way the hair falls. Matching them is the whole craft, and it is why one coat takes a fortnight rather than a day.
In September 2025 we secured Top Lot at the Saga Fur Auction, in both mink and fox. Top lot is the finest grade in the auction, graded on density, softness, colour consistency and finish. Those skins are limited, and once they are made up they cannot simply be reordered.
We have since reached the top 50 in the Best Small Business in the UK awards. In September 2026 our pieces walk at Runway7, New York Fashion Week — the show on the 11th, the awards, where we are nominated, on the 14th.
